Our Team

Niten Malhan is the founder of New Mark Advisors LLP.

Prior to founding New Mark Advisors LLP in April 2018, he was the managing director and co-head of India at Warburg Pincus India Private Limited (“Warburg Pincus”), a global private equity firm. Niten joined Warburg Pincus in 2001 and became a partner at the firm in 2007. In 2012, he was appointed the co-head of the India business, co-leading a team of 15 investment professionals and a portfolio of over $3 billion in value. Between 2012 and 2017, Niten was also a member of the global executive management group of the firm, a group of senior partners who lead different offices and industry groups at Warburg Pincus.

Niten has also served as the vice-chairman of the Indian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association. Prior to joining Warburg Pincus, he worked as director of business development at Stratum 8, a Silicon Valley technology start-up company. Before that, he was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, and worked in the India, South East Asia and Boston offices of the firm.

He has served as member of the board of directors of several investee companies including Alliance Tire Company, AVTEC, Cleanmax Solar, DB Corp, Diligent Power Private Limited, Embassy Industrial Parks, Havells India Limited, Laurus Labs, Lemon Tree Hotels, Metropolis Healthcare Limited and Sintex Industries Limited.

Niten studied Computer Science & Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, and completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Nihar Shah joined New Mark Advisors LLP in October 2018.

Prior to joining New Mark Advisors LLP, Nihar was a senior analyst at First Voyager Advisors Pvt. Ltd., which advised the US $500 million TVF Fund which invested in public equity markets in India.

Prior to First Voyager Advisors, he spent 8 years as a Lead Analyst, responsible for coverage of technology, media, telecom and retail sectors for ENAM Holdings Pvt. Ltd., one of India’s largest family offices. Before working at ENAM Holdings, Nihar spent 3 years in investment banking across India and the United States with ENAM Securities Ltd. and Jefferies & Co. Inc.

Nihar completed his Bachelor’s in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Carnegie Mellon University. He also received his MBA degree with distinction from INSEAD in 2008.

Vivek Tulshyan joined New Mark Advisors LLP in May 2018.

Prior to joining New Mark Advisors LLP, Vivek was a Vice President at Creador Advisors, advising a US$900 mn South East Asia Private Equity Fund. In this role, he made investments across listed and unlisted companies in Consumer, Healthcare and Manufacturing sectors in India. Prior to that, he worked in Investment Banking at Edelweiss Financial Services and JP Morgan Chase.

Vivek completed his Bachelor’s in Management Studies from Narsee Monjee College, Mumbai, and completed his Post Graduate Program in Management from Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.

Piyush Chandak joined New Mark Advisors LLP in August 2022.

Prior to joining New Mark Advisors LLP, Piyush was the Portfolio Manager for public equities at Miras Management, Dubai ($5 bn+ family office) investing in Indian and global listed equities. Before that, he spent over a decade investing at Altavista Capital (global long-short public equities hedge fund), investing at Gaja Capital (mid-market private equity fund), and consulting at McKinsey & Company.

Piyush completed his Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (2009) followed by his Post Graduate Diploma in Management at Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (2011).

Yash Jhaveri joined New Mark Advisors LLP in June 2024.

Prior to joining New Mark Advisors LLP, Yash was an associate with AUM Ventures and Wami Capital, advising on their investment in venture capital space in India. Prior to that, Yash has spent over 7 years at KPMG working as a regulatory and tax advisor. Over his 9 years of advisory experience, Yash has worked with a broad array of clients including domestic and foreign companies, family offices, and HNIs on a range of assignments including fund setup, inbound/ outbound investment structuring, transaction advisory, and tax due diligence. His experience spans a wide range of topics including SEBI regulations, Indian exchange control regulations, and domestic and international tax laws. He has also made representations on regulatory and tax matters to tax and regulatory bodies.

Yash is a Chartered Accountant, has completed Bachelor of Laws from Government law College, Mumbai and completed his Bachelor of Commerce from H.R. College, Mumbai.

Kavita Chaudhari joined New Mark Advisors LLP in June 2022.

Prior to joining New Mark Advisors LLP, Kavita was working as Administration Manager at Sharekhan By BNP Paribas. Before that, she spent over a decade in Administration – Infrastructure Management at Thakral Services, Tyco International and Reliance Communications.

Kavita completed her Engineering Diploma in Electronics Production and Maintenance from DOEACC Centre (Aurangabad) and her Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Retailing) from Jaipur National University (Jaipur).
